Marrying the western vintage ambience and its gastronomic Amsterdam-inspired food, I Am Cafe provides a window into Amsterdam culture. Best of all, its food are Halal-certified!
'“I am…” is the best halal cafe in haji lane that serves a line-up of Dutch-inspired food with its signature dishes like best burgers, delicious ribs, fish&chips include the Amsterdam favourite Fries & Mayo, and popular meatball snack Bitterballen. Made from Grade-A skin-on russet potatoes sourced from the United States, the fries are double-fried to golden yellow using Canola oil, thus resulting in a crunchy coating and delicate and fluffy texture inside. The Bitterballen has been created after 1.5 years of trials and experiments, with its recipe being tweaked to adhere to Halal requirements, by replacing lard with beef stock and flour for good flavour and texture. It’s best served hot with mustard sauce, just like how the Dutch enjoy it!'
Earning a 'Food and Excellence' award back in 2014, I Am cafe certainly provides a novel food experience, while allowing you to embellish your Instagram feed with their aesthetic decor.
