100 Days Campaign to Help SMEs in SG

January 23, 2021

“Education costs money. But then so does ignorance.” – Sir Claus Moser, British statistician

With the backdrop of Covid in 2020, SourceSage decided to launch our 100 days Campaign to help SMEs Go Digital by investing our resources and time into educating SMEs on digital solutions and doing tech for a good cause.

The 100 days Campaign is split into two parts, with the physical roadshows which are organized twice a week and an online SMEs thought leadership series where we invite SMEs, and trade associations on sharing their past successes or failures of their digitization efforts.

The objective of the 100 days Campaign is to first achieve engagement rate of up to 100,000 SMEs in Singapore in 2021, followed by the next 200,000 in the rest of the region with the help and support from local trade associations, financial institutions, government agencies and channel partners. With SourceSage traditional focus on larger enterprise and a robust ecommerce infrastructure, we believe our newly launched SME Online Store solution will deliver quality, reliable, fast, affordable and personalized solution for SMEs around the world.

Since December 2020, SourceSage SME team has consistently walked the grounds to visit merchants door to door located in heartland precincts to shopping malls.

Challenge

What we have discovered through was that many of the SMEs were really unaware of some of the government schemes that are available for help with regards to digitizing their stores, and secondly, many of those who knew and have engaged with vendors already suffered bad experiences in dealing with them. Many SMEs felt left on their own without much help once they have paid those eCommerce vendors, sometimes in the region of SGD 10,000.

Solution & Results

We realized an urgent need to help fix the solution by providing personalized help not just in the onboarding process in setting up their online stores but also to guide them through the government grant application. Lastly, we carved out a special SME package to ensure that they will be able to afford our solution. The result was a more widespread adoption of Online Stores solution among SMEs in Singapore.

Moving forward, SourceSage as a company will continue to invest our resources and time to focus on helping SMEs digitize not just in Singapore, but also across the world. However, we cannot do it alone, and need the help of like-minded citizens across the globe to work together as a team to survive this Covid pandemic.
