SourceSage X BeNeering

Last year, BeNeering and SourceSage announced a new partnership that would expand the corporate purchasing choices available to BeNeering’s customers. 

“Partnering with SourceSage is the first step aligned with our strategy to make BeNeering more open so that customers in APAC will be able to streamline their long tail spend through SourceSage,” Christoph Moll, CEO BeNeering, said in a press release. “Customers want choices, and BeNeering is continually evaluating and onboarding new contents and marketplaces to serve our clients better.”

SourceSage recently sat down with BeNeering to discuss this new partnership and what it means for their customers. Here is our conversation.

(1) SourceSage: What is BeNeering, for those who don’t know?

BeNeering:  BeNeering is a SAP partner who offers one of the most modern purchasing solutions in the form of a hybrid cloud. Our claim is technology leadership when it comes to the digitalization of purchasing processes and the harmonious interaction between cloud and ERP. We complete the shopping experience for users via Guided Buying and the associated user experience according to the latest standards. 

(2) SourceSage: Can you describe what the partnership between BeNeering and SourceSage entails?

BeNeering: BeNeering customers can browse all their procurement channels simultaneously. This means that search results in (e.g.)  internal/external catalogs and webshops are shown in only one combined list. This enables price comparability and increases the choices users have. By connecting Source Sage via API to the BeNeering Cloud, also Source Sage’s product range is integrated into the cross-catalog-search of their customers. 

(3) SourceSage: How does this partnership help BeNeering customers?

BeNeering: Where most of our customers come from Europe and Germany, their suppliers are located world-wide and big companies like DHL have dependencies all over the world. With integrating Source Sage we combine the benefits of having access to Asia’s largest B2B marketplace and an intuitive integration into the customer’s ERP landscape. 

(4) SourceSage: Will this partnership assist in addressing the supply chain issues we’re currently seeing right now across the world? How?

BeNeering: By having access to Source Sage’s product portfolio, BeNeering customers increase their possibilities to find alternative items if usually brought articles are not available. They have the chance to compare prices, find new suppliers and thus be flexible while prices on the market increase. 

(5) SourceSage: How did this partnership arise? Was this something customers had asked for?

BeNeering: Yes, customers knowing our integration of European marketplaces suggested the integration of Source Sage, too, so that also buyers on the Asian market may profit from the Guided Buying processes possible in the BeNeering Cloud. 

(6) SourceSage: Why is a solution like this so vital now?

BeNeering: The world is getting digitized and moves online. For all our customers, die digitization of procurement has been realized with introducing ERP systems. By now, these are established and robust, they’re the backbone of the company’s procurement processes, but not always comfortable to use. Trying to move this backbone online would be a high risk most companies are not willing to take. The answer is to combine the user-friendly benefits of online Cloud solutions with the reliable on-premise ERP of our customers. That is the so-called hybrid model which is offered with BeNeering’s Real-Time Procurement. 

(7) SourceSage: What does the future hold for this partnership? Are there plans for more capabilities?

BeNeering: BeNeering is constantly working on further simplifying the shopping processes for our customers. Right now it is already possible to work in real time on the SAP documents in the backend by shopping via BeNeering’s user interface. With each partnership, we improve and extend our knowledge in creating interfaces, that transform the processes of our customers to become smoother and easier.
