To create first online store

As part of SourceSage’s 100 days SMEs Go Digital campaign, the virtual aspect of this initiative looks at providing thought leadership to similar SMEs who are at the crossroads of digitization post-covid. Through this series, speakers and important thought-leaders from various industries are brought together to share industry trends, opportunities and noteworthy pieces of advice to encourage more SMEs to come forward and try new solutions, especially SourceSage’s Online Store.

In this first coffee session, we have Carolyne Tan from Animal Kingdoms.

Challenge

As a local business owner, business definitely took a hit during Covid. “Brick and mortar stores are not working out anymore, in fact for the last 6 years, it hasn’t been good.” says Ms Tan. Going digital has also not been a smooth process for her, “I paid a company to do up a website for me but it wasn’t completed even though payment was made. Their staff weren’t helpful and even went AWOL on me.”

Solution

Ms Tan said then that she decided to do up her website on her own when she came across SourceSage’s solutions online. “SourceSage helped do up my entire website and included logistics and payment gateways. It really saved me a lot of time because payment gateways can be difficult for someone who’s just starting out.”

Looking forward, Ms Tan plans to include online pet consultation services on her website alongside AI chat functions with the help of SourceSage.

Fellow entrepreneurs, you must not be afraid to take risks - calculated risks, for an online portal is definitely minimal cost. It is affordable and with SourceSage there to help with their capable helpful staff and customizable solutions, it’ll be easy.” says Ms Tan

Results

SourceSage will continue to bring together thought-leaders in the industry to share insights on trends and opportunities to encourage SMEs and help them in their journey in going digital. With new and improved updates coming up, these tools will be made available to merchants like Ms Tan and other SMEs utilizing SourceSage’s online platform.
